One of the most important festivals celebrated here is Dev Diwali. A point to be noted is that Dev Diwali is very own festival of Varanasi only. Dev Deepawali in Varanasi

Dev Deepawali is an annual festival, celebrated with great enthusiasm every year. It is different from Diwali that is generally celebrated with lights, sweets and crackers all across India to mark home-coming of Lord Rama after 14 years of exile. In fact, Dev Diwali is celebrated 15 days after Dipawali. Though there may be many similarities, it is important to know that Dev Deepawali is the Deepawali celebration of the gods. Here too, millions of earthen lights are floated on the ghats of Varanasi across a seven kilometre radius.

If you want to witness Varanasi in its most beautiful form, you must make a Dev Dipawali Varanasi Tour. This festival is also known as Kartika Purnima or Tripurari Purnima and is celebrated on ‘purnima’ or Full Moon Day in the Hindu month of Kartik.

Ghats of Varanasi: Varanasi has several temples and ghats. These ghats are part of the fabric of the city and extremely important to the people who live here and who visit here. Among the 88 ghats here, let’s take a look at two:

Assi Ghat: At the confluence of the River Ganga and the River Assi is the Assi Ghat, at the southern-most tip of the city. This is an extremely important ghat for the Hindus. Before worshipping Lord Shiva, the pilgrims take a bath here. In the neighbourhood, you’ll find several interesting shops and eateries, therefore ideal for overnight tourists.

Chet Singh Ghat: This ghat has a lot of history behind it. The battle between Maharaja Chet Singh, ruler of Varanasi in the 18^th century and the British was waged on this ghat.
